this one is 1095 steel. I tried a new clay application technique, the hamon is not as bold, but does have more cloudiness and waviness at the transition line. That is what I was trying for so...mission accomplished. The spine is fileworked with my random vine pattern

The handle...well, it is a stabilized burl. I am sure of that, but I cant remember what kind of burl it was, and it got mixed in with other burls. I think it is box elder, but I could be wrong. (It is nice looking though!)

The sheath is hand stitched leather. It is designed for in the pocket carry on the right side. I carry my own knife in this way, and it is the only way I do it. I dont need a belt and I forget I have a knife on me most of the time.

Dimensions
Blade - 4 1/2" tip to handle
OAL - 9"

Price - $185 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

The first to post "I'll take it!" here, gets it.

It's getting harder and harder to not buy your knives, Mr. Bailey. I will probably fight tooth and nail for one of your recurves or a halibut.

Thanks guys. Fz1 it is yours and I am getting ready to go out today and get some more work done on those neo's.

I love your knives too, Mr. Bailey especially the hamon you create. Could you possibly post a pic of this one in your hand. I just need a feel for the size. Thanks

Yeah, I always seem to forget that picture. I'll have to try and remember that in the future.

Matt, Beautifull work once again. Thank you for the reply to my e-mail over the weekend. The advice really helped me out alot.

not trying to rush the neo's just letting you know how eager i am to buy one or 2 from you.
thanks again matt!!!!!!!!

Just a quick question Matt... you are able to carry these knives with an OAL of 9"+ in your front Pocket? even when sitting down?

Beautiful Knife... I will be trying to grab a larger knife of yours!

Flesheater,
Yes, the knife I carry now is 8 3/4" long. I clip it on my front pocket, and it slips all the way into the pocket. The only downside is that I cant really put anything else in the pocket. When I sit down, it points off the side of my hip.

I was trying to describe this, but decided to just take pictures. Please forgive the dirty pants. I just came in from grinding a bunch of blades.

man is this one sharp.
the hamon pattern ghosts the pattern in the wood if that makes sense.
me likey.
another awesome knife.
thanks for producing these fine works matt.

Nice score Boxer....Thats a sweet blade. The wood on there is box elder burl. Matt had it right. I really like that sheath too with the pocket clip.

Thanks guys, FZ1, glad you like it. My left arm is bald also, in patches. People think I have the mange when they see me. It is ok, cause most of the hairs on my right arm are singed off.

i think the hamon is called "Water Sky" in arctic speak.
