Probably not. Unless it has a clear coat on it. Magnet test might help/work.

"CP" does in fact mean the item is in a clam pack as opposed to a box. I will let you in on another insider tip: a "-1" after a product number generally denotes just a blade, not a blade/sheath combo. An example would be a 1217 would be a USMC Fighting/Utility knife with a sheath, while a 1217-1 would be just the USMC Fighting/Utility knife. We sell everything we make with a sheath so it is unlikely you would see that combo, but who knows. Maybe one day we will offer blades in the Clearance section of KA-BAR.com
