Desk Razor in 1095 and Stabilized Maple Spalt


8.25" overall length

3/32" inch thick x 4.25" long 1095 blade (from the top of the handle scales)

Differentially hardened with a roughly polished hamon

Convex grind starts about 1/4" from the edge

Book matched stabilized spalted maple with brass pins

Hand tooled and stitched 4/5 oz leather sheath

Todd, is this a convex edge? Looks like it maintains its full 3/32" thickness all the way until it swoops down to it's edge near the...edge. Is that the case, or is it more of a flat grind and I just can't tell by the pics? I'm basically asking to figure out how well she'll slice. Absolutely gorgeous example here man, love the overall design, and those scales are just crazy.

Good eye, VanDammet. It maintains full thickness till about 1/4" from the edge and then goes convex, then to the short secondary bevel. Not as sharp as a hollow ground razor, but it will pop hair.
