In my humble and unscientific opinion 10xx series steel, although a very simple alloy, performs very well, holds an excellent edge if heat treated properly and seems to slice better than a lot of the designer steels.
This one is mostly stock removal from 3/16 inch 1095 high carbon steel
Heat treated in my Evenheat furnace with three normalizing and two tempering cycles to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain
Flat grind with at 400 grit finish
The harpoon clip is not sharpened
Stabilized ambrosia maple handle with carbon fiber spacers
Overall length: 9 inches
Blade: 4 1/2 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry
SOLD delivered within the US. I will ship outside the US but extra shipping costs will be needed. My PayPal and email address is gldrewknives@gmail.com
