It's cooled off here, so I was able to get in the Garage and finish up a few knives that I had started earlier in the year.

Here's one I just finished just in time for hunting season. Aldo's 1095 at about .140 with Bocote scales. Cutting edge is right at 4 inches with the overall knife being 8 1/2". This baby is screaming sharp!

Sorry for the design on the sheath! :o I didn't do well transferring the design in my head to leather. But it's a good sturdy sheath otherwise. Made from Hermann Oak leather.

I'm discounting the price on this knife because while grinding, I ran off the top a tad on the right side. You'd probably never notice it unless you were specifically looking for it. Doesn't affect the performance one bit, but I know it's there.

Handle has one 1/4" Mosaic pin and 4 brown micarta pins at the rear.

Price: $SPF. FREE USPS Priority shipping in the ConUS. International buyers pay actual shipping costs and are responsible for all duties and taxes.

Hey Trout, I can't say for certain because every knife I've made with Bocote has went out the door! I haven't had any complaints nor have I known anyone else that had problems with bocote concerning blood or water. I used a wax finish on these handles and I believe that helps with keeping them waterproof, although I don't think they need it to begin with. The wood is fairly dense and naturally oily. It does tend to darken a little over time.

By the way, thanks everyone for the kind remarks. They're greatly appreciated. It's feels great to be back out there building knives!

My experience with bocote is that it's great for knife handles in full tang or a block. Made my father in law a hunter skinner 5 or 6 years ago. He lives in Montana, so doing the math that's a minimum of 5 elk, 10 deer and 10 antelope. Plus he dresses an animal faster than anyone I've ever seen so he does everyone elses too....double or tripple those numbers! I havd sanded that handle to 400 maybe 600 grit and buffed parafin into it and it is doing perfect!

Brian, that's what I hear from those who own my past Bocote knives. I know two are at work down in Texas and I've got good reports. I sanded these to 600 then finished. They turned out nice.
