Ah... now I understand. Yes, I could certainly believe that. And I guess would be simple enough to check out, for bearcut. Just loosen the pivot before going out to a bit of freeplay. Then, if it slows down but doesn't lose the freeplay, it's lube. If it slows down and loses the freeplay, it's material (metal contraction).

And if it doesn't slow down, problem solved? :confused:
 
Interesting info on folders in extreme cold. I tend to stick to fixed blades in the cold. Easier to use with thick gloves.
