1095 Large Recurve with Hamon

[Bailey Knives]

This is a forged 1095 recurve with a really bold hamon. It was forged from a 1/4" bar of 1095. The spine is fully fileworked.

The bolster is tan canvas micarta and the handle is black canvas micarta. I really like the black and tan together and it carries into the sheath.

The sheath is leather and is hand stitched. I am enjoying doing sheaths more now, and hopefully it is showing up in my work.

Blade - Just under 5 1/2" tip to handle
OAL - 10 3/4"

Hope you don't mind Matt, but I wanted to make another comment. This is an extremely nice looking piece. I also wanted to let everyone know that I recieved my first "Bailey Knives" blade in the mail today and can think of only one word to describe it......"WOW!!!". It is absolutely stunning. Thank you for your wonderfull craftsmanship and attention to detail.

My knife collection has grown quite a bit over the past couple of months since I was introduced to this forum. With each additional piece I purchase, I see different charecteristics which I hope to learn from when I begin making blades in the near future. Keep up the wonderful work Matt, I'm sure I'll be doing business with you again in the future.

I recieved this knife today. I wasn't expecting it to be quite as nice as it is. Sometimes photography can hide alot of issues but this is a great knife. Thanks alot. Now the real question is is it too nice to be a user?
