• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Ben Greenburg, AKA Hellspawn415, was very kind a few weeks ago and offered to send me a few samples of Mexican Kingwood. As I understand, Ben is a wood fanatic, and is getting into that business, so I do wish him much success in that endeavor, on TOP of a huge, "THANK YOU!!!" for sending me some toys to play with! I have never worked with Kingwood before, but quite like how it works. Padauk is another wood I've not experienced until recently that I do enjoy working with. The finish on this knife, made from Ben's Mexican Kingwood, was simply taken to 1200 grit and then polished plus a coat of wax.

The steel is Aldo's 1095, ground thin to win! The knife is spoken for by a kind bloke across the pond, but wanted to show the Mexican Kingwood and thank Ben for such a kind gift. If you are looking for some wood for knife handles....you might get with Ben Greenburg. Ben, I apologize if I remember wrong and you become flooded with emails asking about knife scales!!!

Thanks! I find the stuff to be pretty much like Purple cocobolo, though it is about 10-15 percent tougher and heavier!
