Here is a good using knife for sale. It is forged from 1095, hand rubbed to 1500 grit with a hamon. The handle is black paper micarta. It comes with the sheath pictured. Sorry the hamon pic is so crappy, but they are just hard to get a good shot of sometimes. This knife has a full flat grind.

Spine-5/32" with distal taper

how do you heat treat?

I use a baffled temp controlled forge that will hold temps within 5 degrees. I have a thermocouple so I know temps, no guessing. I soak 1095 for 7 minutes at 1485 degrees and quench in Parks#50. Thanks for your interest and feel free to ask any more questions.

with your distal taper, how thick is the point?

With the forged distal taper and a full flat grind, the tip tapers to be pretty fine. About 1/4" back from the very tip it measures .035" and tapers to a point from there. I included a pic. Thanks.
