Good Afternoon Bladeforums, it's been a while!
Today I have one Work Hawk mini, made from 1095 and heat treated professionally by Peter's Heat Treat. The mini is a sub-1lb tomahawk that can chop but also cut, slice, shave, chisel, prep food, etc. It does everything a large knife can do, except it's easier (and safer in my opinion) to use on many small tasks that don't require a long blade. This particular mini has a no-frills tool finish, basically one layer of gun blue + oil over whatever imperfections and scratches were in the steel. This one has a light convex in place of a secondary bevel and is quite sharp. A simple kydex mask covers the edge with elastic cord for quick, easy removal.
Here are two videos of earlier model hawks.
Some 2x4 chopping:
Some spoon carving:
Steel: 1095 @ 58RC
Heat treat: by Peter's including cryo, the best.
Thickness: .25"
Weight: only 14.2 ounces, including the wrap and ultralight sheath!
OAL: 10.9"
Cutting edge: 2.6", sharp as hell
Handle: wrapped with dark gray Atwood 550 cord.
Stamped with "PARK," "1095," and an American flag.
$205 SOLD via Paypal Goods and Services (includes insured USPS Priority Mail to the CONUS). First "I'll take it" gets it. You must be 18+ to purchase. You are responsible for compliance with your local laws.
Comments and questions are always welcome! Thanks for looking.
