IF I wasn't so over spent I'd snag this in a heartbeat. I have one of his turkey knives and it is just a standout. Reminds me of a Fowler in profile and grind etc. Really nice fit and finish and very very clean grinds. keepem sharp

Hey Joe , I have been wanting to try out this World War Two Kabar type knife steel , so hope its forged good in the right places--- pay pal has already been sent. so go to pm for my mailing address, thanks Joe

Joe, you'll be impressed with Joe's knife. I have 2 of 444's fixed blades. Nicely forged, great in-hand, sharp, and made more like a tool than a work of art so there's no hesitancy in using them. I really like mine and my J. Allen folders too.

Roland , Thanks for the message, yes, something about this knife just said buy me, I like the Fowler influence an the forged edge part the most ,as far as zebra wood , hhmmmmm ? I think I still have a few pairs of that stuff from when I first started making knives back in the middle 70's, never did care much for it. I liked Bocote an Desert Ironwood an any Burl stuff with highly figure in it, but for the price Joe's asking, this baby will be one of my carry anywhere knives an use for anything . Bye Roland .

I see a Fowler influence. These are just great knives and work horses. I carry mine every where I can. Sheath is high and tight and the knife tucks up good and comfortable. Talk about an edge, holy crap they do get sharp. keepem sharp and waiting on more!

joebonny, i did get your pp, so this one is yours. It will be on its way to you in the morning. You are going to love it, it feels good in my hand so should in yours as well. as far as the wwii steel, 1095 is one of my favorites. Ive been getting good performace out of it, and it only takes me one day to heat treat it. in my rope cutting tests, it performs equal to my benchmade 940 in s30v, yet has very good strenth {which Ive never flexed a benchmade to see what it will do in a flex test} I messed up one of the sides of a blade in this batch, so I clamped it in a vice and flexed it to about 80 degrees before it broke, and it took about 40 ftlbs of force with my 1/2" torque wrench to do it. these blades will generally make 50 cuts in a 1/2 manilla rope before they quit shaving, and will continue to do another 100 cuts before they quit cutting aggressively.

I checked out your folder, and that is very nice! Ive made a few, and have a victorinox tinker pattern about half done that has been sitting on my bench for a year waiting to be finished, but they dont come out as nice as yours. I should finsih that tinker, as it is such a handy tool that would be soo much better with good steel.

longbow and roland, thanks guys for the compliments! nothing is better in my knife world than to have someone use one of my blades and have it perform above their expectations!

Thanks Longbow! Ed is my favorite teacher/ author. Ive never met him, but hope to next time i'm in his neck of the woods. the best lesson he has to teach in his videos and books is "Absolute dedication to performance" so that is what I work for.

Joe, I think this knife will be more then I expected an do any thing I ask of it , Im not hard on my knives, but I do like a good heat treated blade if I can get one. I met ED Fowler at one of the Knife shows long time ago. he is just as nice an humble a person as you hope he would be. he puts a lot of time in that 52100 steel to get a good knife made. I'll tell you this Joe, if you put some kind of horn like he does or even some good stag , you would be selling like crazy, an maybe have to raise them prices also. But for my knife I can't wait to get it, thanks for posting it on here.-------- Joe

Joe I just received this knife in the mail today, and Roland is right, it 's much more nicer in person an more than what I expected, its slimmer an more what I like, its well thought out an made for anything. Birds to Moose, this knife would do it I believe. IT has a cam lock that will not let this knife drop out of the sheath, I'll get it just right -give me time. Im so glad i bid on this jewell, the price was a steal. Thanks Joe.
