Ok, so here is another knife that I have had laying around waiting for the potential owner to contact me. I had asked him about handle material for his knife a bunch of times and never heard back from him. I guess after 6 months, it is fair game.
It is 1095, clay coated with a hamon. The hamon is quite bold. The spine has been fileworked also.
The handle is stabilized spalted maple burl. It was a gift, and I wasnt told exactly what it was, but I have used spalted maple burl before and this stuff looks exactly like it, plus it smelled like fiberglass resin when I sanded it so I knew it was stabilized. (that and all the stabilant I could see filling all gaps). The bolster is G10.
The sheath is hand stitched and tooled 8-9oz leather. It is nice and robust and holds the knife securely.
Dimensions
Blade - Just over 4" tip to handle
OAL - 9"
Price - $245 shipped to US. I prefer paypal to matt(at)baileyknives.com, but will accept check or money order.
The first to post here "I"ll take it!" gets it.
