I am just giving this a little Tap... Mike did you get that knife finished up?
I asked Mike to do the WIP when he was making the blank for me just so I could "watch". I have been doing a little forging here and there when time permits. My confidence is building slowly. I cut out a couple of pieces of 1084 in the same shape as the blank I got from Mike so I could practice on them first. I'd rather mess up the 1084 and not the san mai, which I did already, burnt it right in half. If I messed them up, oh well. I still need much practice before I hit that san mai. When I do start working on the san mai, I plan on doing a WIP and putting a link to it here in this thread. When I do start working on it, I'm hoping to end up with something like the knife in your avatar, if I'm not mistaken, is based on one of the Pay it forward build knives.
