10mm Auto v .45 ACP, your thoughts requested.

.40s are nice. 10mm really excels in longer range shots with faster, heavier bullets.

.40s are great for personal defense. I would say they are very close if not equal to the .45 ACP in this role with modern bullets.

10mm, however, is an awesome field round. But if you take a 135gr .40 bullet and load it really hot for personal defense I'm pretty sure there would be very serious tissue damage. If you want hard cover penetration, load up a 200gr hardcast FMJ. I'm pretty sure that would outpenetrate 147gr 9mm FMJ with similar sectional density and greater inertia. Could probably even load this same cartridge to subsonic levels without losing too much case capacity.

I want a 10mm now. :D

I like the 10mm over the 45acp for defensive purposes. As far as plinking its a bit too expensive for my blood!

I love my Glock model 29. If 11 rounds of Winchester Silvertips don't get the job done, then RUUUUUUNN.:D
