Nice truck with a nice ad! :D

I guess they're rare on your side of the pond - didn't see any bavarian beer while i've been to NYC & upstate NY...
[although i think you can top paulaner..]

PS.: and to fight some kind of cliché we got: living in bavaria (or germany) doesnt imply that you drink a lot of beer. It just implys that you can get good beer at reasonable prices.

Amazing trip.

You got some very gorgeous shots.....

Yea, it was great for sure.

As for the pics we really have the digital camera to thank. Between the two of us we took over 700 shots. It's a numbers game much like dating. Back in the days of film you had to be more cautious about the shots you took. I have boxes and boxes of old motorcycle trip pics taken with film stored in the garage. One of these days they'll get scanned and sorted.

Capitol Reef NP was the highlight of the trip. We stayed there a few nights last year almost by accident but didn’t get much time to explore. Sure makes me wish I would have taken some coursework in geology. The 100 mile long Waterpocket Fold, caused by colliding tectonic plates, runs the length of Capitol Reef NP. The earth’s crust takes off at some amazing angles. Our life spans are so short, just a blink of an eye really, that it hurts my brain to imagine the geological sequence of events that created this place. Truly amazing.

Here’s my hiking setup. Really dig the MaxPed Malaga for both riding and day-hikes.

One last pics of the bikes. We had to ride them through about 100 feet of deep sand to get to one of the trailheads…not exactly fun on a 650 lb. street bike. Oy!

Total miles for me roughly 2,400. Longest day in the saddle 670 miles in about 13 hours. Total hiking days…4. Total beers swilled…a bunch. I need a nap.

That YZF600R looks great. Back in the day I had a black/gray YZF (first year of that body style), one of the all time underappreciated bikes.

Here are a few pics from out trip in 03. Back then I was younger and could do long miles on the Ducati. Now it's my weekend fun. My brother has over 40,000 miles on the YZF and it's still going strong...a really versatile and well rounded bike.

Lake Tahoe summer hail storm.
