Good Afternoon,
This blade is made from 3/16" 8670 full flat ground and hand sanded to 1500. I then blued the blade and handle hardware followed by a polish with 1500 grit lapping powder. I focused the polish from the tip back and the blade picked up a nice weathered look.
The clip is sharp for the first 5". The balance is 1/4" in front of the guard. At 16 ounces the blade feels very light and fast.
The handle is made from sambar stag and 100 year old wrought iron that I forged out of a ship chain. To enhance the grip on the stag I filed it and filled the grooves with oil based enamel. The pommel is threaded on the tang and compressed the stag between 2 epoxy soaked leather spacers. The tang was then peened over the pommel locking everything in place. The guard is hot fit and soldered.
The sheath is hand tooled leather.
Its a little hard to see in the picture but the makers mark is under the guard.
