This knife would be excellent for preparing sashimi or for BBQ. Probably best suited for BBQ. I think 280$ is a good price but I need to move my old inventory so I am open to reasonable offers.

May I ask what grind you have on this piece? I see a slight shadow on the blade, could it be an S grind?
 
The grind is nearly flat but convexed slightly to reduce "stiction". Where you see the shadow is where the convexing starts, its convexed to zero thickness at the edge (a burr or wire edge) and then a micro bevel is applied to make the edge useable.
Once the micro bevel is established it is refined to 400 grit, 1k, 5k, 10k polished. That's what makes it "silky smooth slicing action" :cool: Thanks for asking , let me know fi you have any more Q's
