110/112 Slim Heritage Elites!

I'd buy a nickel 110 if they sold them on the website and I could use one of the 10, 15 or 20% discounts I've accumulated. I have many light/slim 110 variants and wouldn't mind another, but the value isn't there for me at MSRP on these. They'll inevitably turn us used at some point, so whichever comes first I guess. My only real hang up is I'm not big on pocket clips and don't like tap holes in the bolsters either. Not hating, just personal preference. Maybe some silver solder to fill them up?

Well, I hate clips!! They get in the way of the ergonomics and i don’t like clipping a knife.

Yeah, I see your point, a pocket clip on these slim beauties just seems a little out of place on a heritage piece, I would much rather see a nice leather pocket slip to place it in and then in the pocket. I am fond of the look of Dave Ferry’s ( Horsewright knives ) buckaroo sheath with a tether so you can pull the sheath up from the pocket to get the knife out of the sheath.

Then you have guys like me who want a clip. I like the simplicity of being able to clip a knife to the edge of my pocket with nothing extra hanging off my belt. I also don’t like fishing around in my pocket for a knife when I’m working in the garage. I’d rather not have dirty hands rummaging through my pockets just to find it.

That’s why I’ve gravitated toward 112s with pocket clips. I also have a Range Series with a clip, and both ride nicely in the corner of my pocket.

The one good thing about Buck’s clips is that they are deep and don’t seem to be too uncomfortable anyway. The clips on My slim selects don’t bother me and still have good retention and not mess up my kakies for work. I just don’t think the clip is good looking in the heritage line for a classic look, though I’m sure it is handy and unobtrusive.

Anyone have both one of the Stealth Run 10 knives and one of the new releases? Do they differ at all other than the date code on the blade?

Want one of each but not at that price. Guess I'll wait and see how dear the standard 420HC version ends up being.

I wouldn't count on there being a 420HC version anytime soon ... OTOH, a "Pro" version in 154CM to go with these "Elite" versions in Magnacut ...

Yeah, I can see Slim Heritage "Pro" models happening sooner than I can a "Select" line of Slim Heritage models ...

From the specs, the production model is 1/10th of an ounce heavier. Looking the photos on the Buck website, it appears the pocket slip is slightly different and the rivets on the stealth run are mirror finished and the rivets on the production run are brushed ... and the Production models costs 1¢ less

I don’t understand the higher cost either, I have purchased a 112 with magnacut in the custom shop for $160. This knife uses less wood and metal. I would hope their not just machining off the extra material and optimized the process to start with.

Not everyone wants a thumb stud, I don’t really care for them and find them awkward to use. Maybe have an option for both.
Agree on having the option. I would have assumed most people that disapprove of a thumb stud also wouldn't want a clip.
