I see that SMKW has just listed a 2,000 piece run of a special 50 th anniversary run. Is this the first of many of these specials? Anyone know if there will be a general special edition or if different retailers might have different runs made? I might get one, but still kicking it around....

Thanks for the heads up!! I don't know if this is one, but I understood there was going to be four variations of 110's for the 50th anniversary.

Is smkw going to be the only one selling all 4 variations?
I was thinking about getting one also.

As far as I could tell they SMKW only has one 50th anniversary variation in stock.

The more I think back to what CJ said, the more I think the four variations are different than this 110.

Maybe someone with a better memory of that discussion, or someone that knows for sure will chime in.

The flamboyant 110 folder I see on SMKW is not one of the four unveiled at Post Falls last summer.

The theme of the set of four 110s was: One knife duplicating the build, feel and look of a separate Hunter from each of four separate build locations from the past. The knives were not allowed to be photographed nor was the promotion that goes with it. It is a 2014 surprise that many here, IMHO, will greatly enjoy. Each knife is much less electric-looking, subdued, serious and as true to the originals as possible. It is a labor of love and not a profit making splash out. They are for the collector. And cost more to produce than they will be sold for.

You won't be able to miss the release. It is a media extravaganza unlike anything ever seen from Buck. It will run you over and peel out while it does. You would be wise to find a source and lock it in ASAP if you want a set.

An interested party might doe this: Larry! Hey Larry! Hello Larry (Oden, of course)! Where does the line start for these babies?

Buck is not consistent as to wether the 50th year is 2013 or 2014.
This knife is marked 1963-2013. Black smooth bone with brass bolsters and inlay.
Silkscreened blade. Issue of 2000. Comes with nylon sheath.

This knife is exclusive to the vendor. Here is a YouTube video about it.

They got it right in the video….saying it was produced starting in 1964.

We all know the 112 should be coming out with it's 50th also. I have some 25th anniversary 112's from the late 1980's. :D

I imagine there are quite a few Alabama folks think that is a fine looking knife. :)

The vendor has already dropped the price $20 so it's probably a poor seller.
I'm waiting for a buildout on the leftovers....I think the red corelon handles on the brass frame is stunning but ruined by the billboards.

As long as the writing is pad print and not elector etch it should polish off easily.
