110 and 560 Blade Spines

Noticed that the blade spine on the one 560 I have is not beveled at all. Compared to the couple of 110 blades I compared it to under a glass I can see that the 560 spine is at definite 90 degree angles on both sides where the 110 blade spines are rounded ever so slightly.
This is not a complaint, but an observation. You can feel the diff with your thumb.
Have read from others that the 110 and 560 blades are the same...but this 560 blade stamp/finish is different. Has anyone else noticed this?
Kind Regards,
Goose.

Is that the top edge of the clip-point??? I don't have a 560, but if you can get a pic up, I'd be interested to look at it... :)

Here are the pics...talking about the top of the blade from the end of the bolster to the start of the clip point. Note the 90 degree right angle of the 560 spine compared to the 110.

Is this typical for the 560?

hummmm
we shall have to ask Joe who knows when he gets back...
i think i like the flat 90 better ...
seems i have see that flat finish on a few 110's also but not being at home i cant check ...anyone else got thoughts on this?

Yep Preston, I was thinking the same thing! Must be that super duper titanium blade on this. It's a nice knife...not only does it have the super duper blade, it has diamond flecks in the handle...real diamonds, not crystal. :) MAN! I GOT A DEAL!!!!
Dave, none of the other 110 tools I have are flatheads. Just this 560...but I don't have the history you gents have. When ya get better and a chance, check the ones at home out and let me know.

Might it be because the run-of-the-mill 110's are buffed??? And the 560 is just as-ground???

I'm comparing my standard Buck 110, my Alaskan Guide 110, and my 560 all side-by-side, and I can't detect any difference.

Maybe I got an odd one (it's a 2001 560 BTW) but haven't seen enuf replies yet to confirm.
I did the same thing Allen...checked about six 110 blades, my two Brokeback Mountain, ahhhh, I mean "Urban Cowboy" 111 three dots, and my new favorite EDC Alaskan (I get poodle eyed just thinking of that beautiful knife :o ).

The pic, in fact, is with the Alaskan...if you look closely on the inside of the blade you can see the "Alaskan" logo where the bandaid came off ;) .

I just got an Alaskan Guild, with the help of Chickentrax acting as my agent, and one thing I am not sure of is the wood. Do you think it is rosewood or perhaps cherry? It looks a little red next to other knives I have that are, I am certain, rosewood so I think it might be cherry. I can’t come up with an answer from the bumpf that came with the knife. Wad a you all think?

Goose, I checked the two 560's I have...both have the flat grind. One is tang stamped 110T the other 560/. I didn't go thru all the other 110s, just the ones handy ranging from a 2 dot, mid 90s to 2005. Just the blades on the 560s have that type of grind.

Maybe you'll get an answer from Joe or CJ.

Preston

Pretty interesting that even the 110 blade on the 560 body has the flathead spine. Your 110 is a 2003 and the 560 from 1993. Mine is a 2001 stamped "560". So, while it was stated previously somewhere, that 110 blades were used when 560 blades were out of stock, the finishing process might be different between the two models. (just a SWAG)
Thanks Preston for checking...
Goose.
