Some may recall that I messed up the scales on a 110 BG-42 Elk.
I sent it in to Buck to replace the damage I caused.
Came back in about 5 weeks. Not bad

Anyway...look at the pics.
See if you can see what I noticed right outta the box.
Never seen this before on a factory job or anywhere.

Also, never seen a Bud Clamato. Found that in Oregon on my way up to Washington for a family gig.

I noticed the brass inlay rivets but figured that was what was on the knife originally....either that or my rework guy is going colorblind!

Guess he's colorblind

Omaha-BeenGlockin wins the "Who Does Goose Admire Du Jour" award.

Now I have a "Golden Eye" 110 BG-42 and this gizmo that needs a name.
Yes, a "name". Like that CIA agent in the movie "Volunteers" with the knife he named "Mike".

I was bummed at first...but now I'm kine liking it.
Good thing I'm not too picky (this based on some bar flys I have had conversations with at 1:30am)...

Here's the "before and after" pics.
Also, a link with the scales after I messed 'em up.

I thought the frame & bolsters were brass too! Your "after" pic threw me. I'm color-blind...where do I apply for the Custom shop :o :D

Boney Maroney ,Bones ,Brassahola,Brassaholic .... what did I win !:D:p

...Hey gooser......Remember that dinosaur called the triceratops for it's three boney horns that stuck outa it's head bone???...How's about callin' her the "Tribrassatops" knife ??...LMBO...View attachment 75928

Question... so they replaced the whole knife basically right? (except for the blade?)

The finger grooves now extend into the bolsters...is it basically an entire new body or did they do this to the original knife?

hey goose did you have them rework the finger grooves or is it a whole different frame ?
i like the before one better with the exception of the fingergrooves , if the top one had the larger ones that went into the bolsters like that bottom one i would like it the best
but either one would be a nice knife

Hi Goose,

DarrylS is close on the name....But, I like the name Tri-clops!!!!! Well Marvin your Golden eye and your Tri-clops are quite a pair...How about a family photo? I think Buck did a fantastic job on that new handle....Sweet:thumbup:

 ...Yeah John...Tri-clops might work too...and that scale and frame redo is fantastic...

I like the way the scales feed into the bolsters.

Are the rivits "inlays" or do they go all the way through and help hold the scales on? I just ordered a custom with Indigo wood with rivets but if they are just decorative I'll need to chage it to no rivets.:D

Goose,

I went back and read the thread you posted. :D I just laughed my ass off at the suggested remedies. :D  What a riot! :D Its worth re-reading!:D That knife must atleast triple its value now that its a one-of-a-kind!

I like it better now then before.how about calling it Fred as in Flentston.

The scales are nicer looking. And the finger groove seem's to be cut larger.
Yea, I would call it Fred.
