110 drop point at custom shop

I'm closer to a custom than I was when G10 became an option. S30V in a DP and I won't be able to resist! Nickel + Finger Grooves + S30V + Drop Point + G10 + Black Leather Sheath.

I don't know how patient I can be... What's more important; S30V, or a Drop Point? Both please!

That's exactly the combo I was thinking about. Similar to the club "tactical" 110.

I'm wondering if they are withholding the s30 dp out of respect to DLT. I mean the s30 dp blade is what makes it special. I could see them offering this once all the limited ultimate hunter knives are gone.
How pissed would you be if you funded a limited run only to have Buck turn around and offer the very feature that makes your knife desirable?

With that being said, I would love a 110 with a 420(or s30) drop point blade, nickel bolsters, and buffalo scales.

Yeah, I ordered one — couldn't not order one, given that it has what I've looked for. Drop point, brass, walnut, rivets. (Hey, I'm traditional.)

I considered very seriously choosing nickel bolsters and cherrywood, but it would come out looking too close to my 500.

Tony, that's what I was thinking. Us Buck collectors already have several 110 & 112 drop points. That are lighter, have different handle material and blade of S30V. So, Buck is now giving this option to anyone. DM

So tempting. But what I really want is a custom 500 with walnut scales and no pins to match my inbound 501 (which had made it as far east as Illinois as of this morning).

I'm curious to see if they have a nail nick to open the blade. It doesn't show it on the custom site.

The one's Buck produced for the collectors doesn't have it. Neither do those offer by Eric. DM

Came at a great time for me. Had been wanting an oak handled one for a while and this made the decision easy. Plus, pretty good price for a custom the way I wanted it! The steel difference isn't a big deal for me, I'm not that picky there.

Since we are talking "custom" I'd like to see Buck offer a 110 and a 112 with the thinning treatment some members have done on theirs where they sand down the sides and ends so that their 110 or 112 almost look like a 500 model. Not sure the term they have used but they sure look nice and very pocket friendly as I would imagine they loose a fair amount of weight in the process.

Badhammer, you mean like this beauty by Duane (aka Sitfyler)?

I think I've heard this style called a "slimline" but I'm not the right guy to ask about correct terms. Regardless, it's beautiful and among other things, I like my knives to be good looking.

I agree with you. Having slimline options for the 110 and 112 in the custom shop would be ideal. I'm thinking about dropping around $100 on a new 110 sized locking knife. I want it to be beautiful but thin and pocketable. The drop point 110 is stunning looking, especially without the nick.

But the competitors I'm considering are the GEC #42 Missouri Trader or the (GEC made) Smith & Sons Mudbug. Both are closer to the 110 in size but both are thinner and lighter than the 110. I would just pull the trigger on the DP 110 but before I do, I give my 110 a few days ride in my pocket and remind myself why the 110 is both my most loved and least carried knife. It's just too thick and heavy for pocket carry. (And no, sheath carry doesn't work for my life.)

That is a beauty and yes, "slimline" was the word I was looking for.
