I've carried a 110 (or Old Timer 7OT) pretty much every day since 1973.
I recently switched to a 112.
I feel like I am "cheating" on the 110 after carrying one for so long.

What would you do?
Carry the 110 and put the 112 away?
Put both a 110 and the 112 on the belt?
Put a 119 on the belt with the 110 and 112?

NOTES:
1) The 112 is a SK Blades Lil' Jack; my first 112 and my first SFO/Custom knife.
2) All knives will/would be on the right hip. (My left wrist has very limited motion; 10° past neutral is the maximum. I never carry anything on my left side.)
3) A stockman and scout/utility/camp knife will, of course, stay in my RF pocket.

One vote, but you can change it.

I have and love a 110. But the 112 seems to be enough. People who carry 110's will jump in and ask if I notice the weight difference, you are right, I don't. But the 112 is still enough. You know when you are going deer hunting. That's a special case. I can't remember the last time I unexpectedly had to quarter a large mammal, and said, "Shoot, I left the 110 at home!" But my 112 has nicer scales than my 110, solid ebony versus diamondwood. So it looks nicer.

I have multiple variants of the 110 and 112. Generally speaking, I carry the 112's more. When I feel like a longer blade, I'll usually grab an Aluminum 110 or sometimes the 110 LT (IMO not as good fit and finish on the LT). You might also like the finger grooved 112.

own many of both...but just prefer the 110 size myself. 112 is a great smaller version and i can see why many prefer it but i just dont. that said i might change one day.....who knows....

swap back and forth.......no reason to go only one direction Sir.

I agree with jb. Switch back and forth. Every now and then I enjoy a beast of a 110 on my belt. My thin 112 is what normally rides with me. It is nice to switch it up every now and then for a change of flavor.

P.S. - I would choose a “back and forth” or “switch it up” option. I don’t know that I could choose one over the other. :D

I would choose a “back and forth” option.

Mr. Fish Hunter, if you don't give us a "back and forth" option, I'll be sitting here all day trying to figure it out. :D

The 110 is the perfect size. The 112 is perfect for places that have size limits.

A 110 handle with a 112 blade would be nice, for those places. The 112 handle is a little small for me.

I prefer the 110 over the 112 but carry neither. I like knives that can be worn discreetly so I use a spitfire everyday.

If you wear a black belt you can wear the black 110 nylon sheath horizontally and no one would notice it?
(You might have to black sharpie the embroidered white "BUCK" to make the sheath more stealthy though.) :)

I'll have to get another Recruit.
I gave the one I had to my nephew/god son as part of his High School Graduation (with honors) present. He graduates in June, this year, and will be starting college in the fall.
I also got him a SK Blades Lil' Jack, since I figured he deserves something special for all the work he did to graduate with honors.

Oh, did I mention that he is eleven years old?
Yeah, I'm kinda proud of him, so's the rest of the family. :)

(He's been homeschooled since he was six months old. Both his parents are former school teachers.)

Seriously graduating highsvhigh at 11 years old ?
Dang that kid is some kind of genius and I can see why you'd be proud.
Don't be surprised if he takes that recruit and becomes a real life Macgyver.

It's hard to imagine graduating at 11, I thought me graduating a couple months early was cool but now not so much :D

Luckily the vic recruit is only $17 and very readily available, a recruit in your pocket and 110 / 112 on your belt is a winning combination.

Yeah ... His favorite subjects are like Greek to me: Trigonometry, Advanced Algebra, Statistics, and Physics.
I don't understand any of them. :(

Oh well. No one's ever accused me of being good looking or smart ... and if they did, they'd be telling a fib. :)

As for being a Macgyver? Notta Chance.
He has (and uses) a recurve and compound bows, slingshots, and a Cold Steel 4 foot "Professional" big bore blowgun.
Macgyver would NEVER touch things like those.

I love the 112 like I do the 40cal SW in a Glock..It does everything well. My personal preference is a drop point finger grooves in any steel really. I have a few in super steels but they are mostly displayed and don't see hard use. I do use a 111 but its mostly on my desk and carried on special occasions. Truly the most practical 112 is the Ecolite..stealthy and light.

The 112 is a really beautiful design and I actually like the looks of it a bit better than the 110, slightly. I wish the 110 had that well done finger guard. However, the 112 is too small for my large hand. There are a lot of 3" blade folders that fit my hand better. I would choose the 110 over the 112 for that reason.

Another reason I would choose the 110 is for food prep. The longer blade is just better for slicing off a slice of good home made bread, cutting through a thick sandwich, or cutting large fruits and vegetables.

Good points Doc. Plus the longer blade makes it easier to keep juices and gunk out of the joint. I also liked the single finger groove on the 112. It's not hard to add one to a 110.

Here it is compared to a standard finger groove. Notice it allows for a higher grip. I like it much more.IMG_20180527_102921.jpg
