Hey Michael...
When were you in Po?
I was there 68-70.
Do you remember the Jungle Land side of Magsaysay?
I walked thru there from time to time. The SP OD thought I was nuts. But, respect, you get respect. Just don't be stupid. Guess being Hapa didn't hurt though!!!
Just like the opening from "An Officer and A Gentleman.
Holy Schlitz!!! You are THE Gentlemen my dad warned me about!!!
L&R Brother JG (or were you a LCdr when you got out?)...
Nontheless,..
Broadcating on the feed from Clark, to Subic, to San Miguel...
Brother Goose.
Navy Chaplain Corp Prospect (DOR).

BTW, to keep the integrity of the thread, the first Buck I ever saw was that of my Scoutmaster, Jim Green (Jet Jockey). Think it was a 109.
I had a jeepney spring Negrito made by those dudes at B-6 (or whatever) annex that "got lost in the move" between there, Japan, and Alameda. THAT, was too cool for school. The only knife I wonder where it us..well, besides my Fort Puke Little Vietnam MP confiscated 110, my 110 with an extra dot where I did a Rockwell test on it, 3xx I traded for a tankful of gas for my pickup, and my Alpha walnut sheath in common steel. Ahhhh, the memories...

Edit Note: Jack and I have edited this page about three (3) times...and the only thing that is a constant is that I want to bag a hot Aussie. HEY!!! I meant a kangaroo, you dirty minded pervs...like the bear dude!!!!!!

Goose,
The first time I was in Olongapo was in 1968 (2nd class) and got there off and on until 1973 when I got out to join SDPD. I went back in with a commission in 1981 and was stashed there for three weeks waiting for my new ship (a real hardship...NOT!) I don't remember any jungle land side of Magsaysay but I remember the alligator in the water outside of Mom's just to the right after you get to the circle. I also remember riding the go carts on base in the pouring rain. What a rush!

I was a LCDR when I retired in 1994.

On my first trip to Newcastle, Australia (Mitch's home) I met a guy in a bar and before the ship left he gave me a kangaroo skin to take back to the states with me. It was still stiff as a board and I was going to have it cured when I got it back to the states. I put it under my matress for the trip back, but I have no idea whatever became of it. :o

I thought the gator was at Pauline's...or maybe that was the fountain with the statue of the kid pee'in in the pond.
Yeah, carts were cool. I still have my "license" somewhere from Special Services.
So we were there the same time :)

You may be right.....it's been a long time. In any event that old alligator took more abuse than he should have. :o

My youngest is 17 and it was like yesterday she was 3 weeks old. If she goes on a date I make certain the dude's name isn't "Chicken"-something.

I assure you, sir, that I would treat her like the treasure she is...
