110 Sheath Variations

Buck 110, thanks for the good info you've posted here on the forum:thumbup:.

I have a couple of older well used sheaths, both with the ears...that differ in the shape of their belt straps. I'm submitting these in the interest of furthering the knowledge base, I don't know what year or knife these were with, but thought that with the vast knowledge and the inquiring minds that it was the thing to do:).

The other is a newer sheath and is of a completely different style and shape...again shown for the cause.

All stamped 110 at the bottom. Preston





 
Better late than never I guess. Well I finally got to take a couple of pictures of two of my older knives and sheaths. The Fourth version sheath with the 110 stamped above the belt loop is the original that was with the knife when I got it. The more gnarly looking sheath with the 110 stamped below the loop I just paired up with the third version that didn't have a sheath when I got it.

Thanks Buck 110, I really appreciate your input.
The guy that I bought the third version from said that he found the knife in the sheath at the base of a tree while hiking in the high desert and that the sheath fell apart when he handled it. I wish that he had saved the pieces. ;0)

I guess if you had to pick a place to loose a knife, judging from the condition of this one, buried in the sand in a hot dry desert location would seem to be the place. But not so good for the sheath which evidently dried out and crumbled away.

I'll need to know what type of tanning agent is used on that leather because I carry a list of chemicals that enflame my allergies and my mother says that it's not good to enflame my allergies because when my gums swell my retainer doesn't fit and my mother says that this is the last one she's gonna buy me because she's tired of me losing them and it's not wise to upset mother. :)
