Has anybody made or seen such a thing?

I'm thinking about Sitflyer's really cool thinline 112s and wondering if anybody has done seen the same with a Buck 110. Actually also thinking about a Buck version of the GEC Missouri Trapper.

I've not seen a 110 thinned down like his 112's but I'd like to.

I've got a 110 FG with the covers pulled, and I've got two CPM 154 Build outs...Hmmmmm...
Maybe you guys will see one at some point...guess I should order up a couple small pieces of African Blackwood...that might work real nice;)

All I know is my Sit Slim Fit 112 is going to want to be next to his big brother Mr Sitflyer, Now we all have to wait

Whats the matter? I cant find my big Brother, Do not worry Mr Sitflyer will find your big Brother

The very first 110 I tore apart 3 years ago turned into a slim line thank's to some "ugly" bolster engraving.
A little nicer for pocket carry, that's for sure.
Wish I never sold it :)

Jared, if you thinned out the scales themselves, that would be what I was envisioning.

Been thinking about GEC's recent Missouri Trader, which is the bigger brother to the #72 lockback. Also thinking about the Queen Cutlery Mountain Man, which is just a tick bigger. (Queen is under new management, btw.)

Anyway, I carried my Buck 500 to church yesterday, came home and picked up my 110 and was thinking about the thinner GEC (in 1095, yum) and then looked back at my 110 and that was what I was thinking.

There have been a few thinned 110's posted here in times past.

If I remember right, consensus was, done by Buck employees on breaks or after hours. In times past

If this is what y'all are talking about.

That one looks very similar to a 112 done "at the factory" that I aquired from EEE...First 110 that I have seen a Pic of, Thanx for sharing Pack Rat...

Welcome.... I think there are several of these floating around here. I know mine isn't the only one. There are past threads on these.

I have info that was given to me by a long time collector who amassed a large amount of data on the 110 and some of it's variants. Joe used a lot of his data in the sheets that Joe has posted here and they appear to be accurate and factual.

From that data, there appears to have been a factory attempt in '94 to produce a 110 "slimline".

"110TS(THIN SIDES)
-produced in 1994(\) only

FIRST 5 PRODUCED (PROTOTYPES)

112 style(hooked) front bolster
no rear bolster pins(knife held together by rocker bar rivet and front bolster pin)
lanyard hole through rear bolsters
no catalog number

NEXT ~100

identical to standard production 110 in every way, except each side of the frame is 1/4" thinner...resulting in a total of 1/2" thinner catalog #2267

The 110TS was an attempt to lighten the weight of the standard production 110, as well as lower production costs by using less material."

Wow, that's really cool. Those prototypes would be interesting to see. Every time I switch between the 110 and 112, I note how much I prefer a) the hook style front bolster of the 112 and b) the longer handle length of the 110.

Thanks for posting the info.

Would love to see pictures.

well...here it is! My first "pocket melted" 110. I decided to use some scraps of Osage Orange that didn't quite work out on a different project...I think I like this Osage Orangewood...

only good pic I have so far...

Very nice Duane! I love Osage. The first knife ever given to me needed fixing and it now has Osage on it.
