110 vs. Bear........

TLC,

There is a mint Winchester 311 on the bay, you were wanting one.

300bucks - 74 to go.

Thanks, I'll check it out. The one I wish I had kept was a limited run that had a "Winchester" shield.

I still have a 301 Stockman with that shield, I never should have broke up the set!

Found it, I'll be interested to see how high it goes, before I sold mine, I had a phone conversation with Vern Taylor about it, and his appraisal was almost dead on. Curious to see one goes higher since it's been a few years. If it goes to high it'll cut me out of the running.

I use to visit occasionally with a Kodiak Island ranger who was always called to help investigate bear attacks. I can't remember if he checked this one out. But he said while out of the plane or boat he never layed down his 181/2 inch barreled Browning auto in 300 winchester mag. and backed that up with a .45 in a shoulder holster. He recommended that everyone else who didn't carry a rifle everyday to carry a short pump 12 gauge with slugs and keep one in the chamber. He said big mag. revolvers were only good for coupe de grace.

TLC near 50.00 educated guess

I'm gonna watch it, Vern Taylor valued these when mint at around $100.00 when I sold mine, I actually got $113.00 on Ebay for mine.

Gonna be fun to watch it!

After that incident, and I'm talking about the bear and Mr. Moe not the sqirrels, he came to Buck Knives and visited. (Mr. Moe, not the bear)
We got to hear the story first hand. Funny thing is, he showed us all of the scars...and I mean ALL of them. Remember the bear had bit off like half of his fanny?...
yup, we saw all the scars. Believe me, if I thought I could have snuck out of that office I would have!
He really was a cool old guy. It was a miracle that he made it out alive.
