This knife was a gift from a family friend when I was young. I don't know much about it other than on the front of the blade it says 110v U.S.A. On the back of the blade it says 941/1000. I received it in the early 90s and it's been kept in my dresser drawer ever since. The knife itself is absolutely beautiful. I would give it a 9.999/10 for condition. Its never been used... ever. The box has a few light scratches and marks just from other stuff in the drawer rubbing against it. The marble top looks great. Please forgive the picture quality... took the pics with a 5 year old 2MP camera. Does anyone have any info on it? Year? Value? My brother was also given one, but his has grouse or ducks rather than turkeys. It's been a while since I've seen it.

Again, the pictures are awful quality, but this thing looks absolutely brand new.

...Year? ...Value? ...

Hi X6...

"Value" is subjective of course. I would pay about $100...but that is just me.
That is a knice knife and knicer with the box.
But I have also paid more for lesser knives in a bidding frenzy.

I am not big on etched blades, but have a couple.
And, there are peeps here that REALLY like them, so what they would pay is certainly an unknown to me (and their wives ;)).

Given all the above speculation, I can state as fact, that the knife is a 1989 blade production.

I would say that Buckaholic is spot on- 1989 year ;)
Looks like a very nice collectible!

i am going to tell ...value as of late is at 80 with out paper work to 135 WITH paper work [this consists of the COA /warrentry /message from the founder/ care of your knife and any other paper work that SHOULD be wit it !!! ]
insurence value is another thing ...
hope this helps...

Thanks for the responses guys. I really wish the pictures showed the detail and condition. I'm going to try to get ahold of my cousin. He just bought a new digital camera. This thing is in absolutely great condition. The blade looks like a new piece of chrome. The etching is really nice too. I've never been too much on blade design and stuff like that. I like the plain blades... maybe some laser cut holes.

The 110 style was never one of my favorites until I was browsing the forum last night and ran across a knife owned by a guy named Allen. It was nickel and buffalo. That is a great looking knife. For the last year, I've been carrying a Kershaw Leek. I do have a few USA Bucks though. If there is enough interest in the 110 I've got, maybe I'll part with it... or trade it XXXXXXXXXXXXXX and order myself a custom nickle/buffalo. As far as the original paperwork, I don't have it. I wish I did, but I've never even seen it.

Thanks again guys. This looks like a nice online community you've got here.

Sorry about that, Ken. I didn't mean that I would post it here on the boards.

I just changed some settings on my camera and I was able to get a couple better pictures. The flash picks up a lot of dust though... It makes the blade look kind of scratched, but I assure you, this thing has never even been in anyone's pocket. It's spent its whole life in that box. In the serial number picture, you can actually see the camera in the reflection. I wish I could get a good picture of the brass... it practically glows.

If you like, X6StringerX, you can use these pic's. They are from the #443/1000, but I think there is no diffference.

Best,
Haebbie

Thanks a lot, but I don't want to misrepresent the knife in any way. Although that piece appears to be in the same condition, the grain of the wood is different, etc. I do my best to accurately describe my knives, guns, etc.

Is that one yours? It looks great!

yes, X6StringerX, that's mine. I found it by an accident and I didn't pay a lot. It looks as good as yours. It's a nice knife. And the box adorns my cupboard.

Haebbie

P.S.: Congratulations for your find!

Howdy Dave,
nice Buck knifes are rare in good old Germany. I don't like that modern stuff with thumb stood or as it is told and complex handle constructions. And I follow nearly all interesting Buck offers at eBay and eGun. And so it comes, that I buy a gold etched turkey buck lying in a wooden display box, even when it is not too expensive. But I have a good friend in the states, living near Washington, and as I know he is keen on gold etched Bucks, may be that I trade with him when he has interestig Bucks for me. :D

I' m glad that the cute red one found it's place. Hope it does it's job for a long time.

Best,
Haebbie

Hi Stringer & All,

Stringer....there have been many Turkey gold etch 110's made over the past years. Your photo's makes it impossible to correctly ID your knife; as we need to see the year stamp on the blade. However, thanks to Haebbie the date stamp on his blade it appears to be < or the stamp for 1986. This is interesting because your knife and Heabbie's look to be the Strutting Turkeys from 1988 issue. Value as you can see from the responces here varry and on ebay...well one never knows. There is a book that is a good referance for value on these older limited edition knives; It's called "Blades Guide To Knives & Their Values". This book has your knife listed and gives it an issued value as $150 and a current value of $150. However, your knife is only worth what someone is willing to pay at the time you want to sell it!!!! The prices that Dave stated are about right for the current ebay market...give or take a few $$$$ on any given day. Like Dave I collect all gold etch 110's and many other models. I love ebay because every now and then I get a very good deal on one of these older limited edition Bucks....and some times I pay way more than I should to fill a void...LOL. Have fun with that knife and welcome to the Buck forum.

Thanks for the welcome. The knife is sold already, btw. I'm sure the new owner will take great care of it. I've got a few more USA Bucks that I'm hanging onto. One is autographed by CJ Buck. I met him a while ago at SMKW. Then I also have a few that I carry from time to time. My next knife purchase will be a survival knife of some sort... not sure about brand/model yet.

JB, thanks a lot for the Information. I just had another look at the knife and found an upside down V date code. so it is from '88 and this corresponds with the date for the Strutting Turkeys issue.

Best regards,
Haebbie

Very cool Dave,

Nice score. I do love all the gold etch blades and cut outs.....there are a few of us here...LOL. But, it seems that most just like them to be plane Jane's or with steel up-grades .

Hi Haebbie,

Thanks also for the date stamp info....it's hard to see the stamp in the photo's. That clears up my confusion .

jb4570

Actually the pictures from Haebbie were perfect, especially since they are only posted to help ID which special run that turkey knife is from....and not to help sell a knife in this forum....Yeah, thats a hint...;)

Stringer is the new guy and probably did not know any better but as to the rest of you, its off to bed with no desert!!

By the way, welcome to the forums Stringer, we dont have too many rules aroung here, really we dont. I hope you will continue to hang out here. :D

but joe i was haveing withdrawll!!! this was medicaly nessary!!!
like wisky in a cut ya know, or a hail mary shot on a 11" beard !!!

I am totally fine with this train of thought Dave, but here are the rules:

Thank you for chosing BladeForums.com BladeForums.com is supported by members who have paid subscriptions, as such, only paying members may advertise items for sale on this site

The following are fairly simple rules for using this area:

All selling must be restricted to the For Sale Areas.

When you solicite knives off newbies (this isn't the first time- right Ohen?) it hurts those of us who do pay for memberships to sell. Why would anyone want to be gold if all they have to do is post knives with pics and ask for values? And then another member just asks to email or emails the potential seller? Also in this case I see X6StringerX wound up with the infraction, not the guy putting the newb up to it... *rant off*
