How many gold etched patterns did Buck offer? I know of the turkey one and the grouse one. I was thinking that I saw a whitetail one once, but I can't remember. Are they all from the same run of 1000? Or did they make 1000 turkey ones and then 1000 grouse ones and so forth? I'm thinking my brother's grouse blade was significantly lower number than mine... maybe down in the 200 range. I'll try to get ahold of him sometime this week. He's pretty hard to catch though... 12 hour shifts... one day off a week.

I said I was fine with it... However your post only offered partial info on value. The rest of your post involved this quote above... I quoted it before you edited the last part out... Yes it is crossing a line...
For someone who pushed for the buck only forum and defended it to the end against all the other BF members who opposed it, and then helped to get all of the GOLD members to start it, yes it does offend!

When people email about pics of knives they wanna buy it is against the rules, maybe a mod should be informed instead of continuing the bad habits?
Maybe Spark should remove the email option from everyones profile and then this couldn't happen????

well i have not counted but there are many issues of gold etch bucks...
i would not be suprised if there were over 50 of the gold and 100 of the black etch...
the number of each varryes from as low as jest a few samples to 2000 or more...
most seem to be of 1000 or less...
and normanly each are seperate issues...
there are a few issues that come out as a set or as a 2 or more year issues
per some data i seen from the buck club the value starts to rise noticably faster on issues of 250 or less tho you can see some rise on issues of 500

again - what is it worth ...
you can only draw an estmate from obeservation..
and that only for insureance..
it was worth it to me to trade a more expensive knife for a lesser one
as i felt it was something i could do for one GI going to war...
i am glad it was the one i sent him that he took to the sand box ...

I feel I should clarify, I believe he was a Gi going to the sand box. The part I dont buy is that, is a legitimate excuse for anyone to break the rules...

Not that it is any of your business, bu I was actually going to put it on ebay. There are far too many good forums around to let one with a couple forum nazis ruin my day. I'm sure there are quite a few good members here, but I won't be sticking around to meet anymore of them if this place is ran like a prison camp. I imagine you guys have lost quite a few members if everyone has been treated this harshly.

Joe did give me a polite nugde by takeing away my sweet after dinner mint.i realy posted in a jokeing maner and realy did expect you to list on ebay looking for the top buck you could get and would have helped you wright your listing...

there are several of us that make deals with each other and mention here on it ...
not that we are here to make deals but we do and deals happen

So I debated even writing that last post, slept on it even. But I felt a ting of responsibility as the forum nazi to send a subtle message, a gentle nudge, to get us back on track. The great folks at Bladeforums allow us to have a forum here and I did not want to hurt that relationship.

Dave (I owe you a mint) and Jim are both awesome guys, both on my "glad to hear from" list. That list is made up of a lot of guys from this forum stringer and I hope you will stick it out and get a chance to meet them. I think it was just a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time with your first post.
By the way, Buck has done many, many special projects over the years with gold etch and black etch blades. We did about 4 or 5 with that special box like the one you were showing. I remember one with a steam locomotive, one with a whitetail deer jumping over a log, the turkey one, and one with a loon.
