I have a brass 111 but no camera. I got mine from Vern Taylor. FYI.

Now that is dedication to knife collecting. No camera and possibly no consumer durables owned because financial focus has been on accumulating top drawer cutlery. You belong here RM. :D

Do you have a scanner or a cell phone? You could capture an image with either of these. However, if you come up with a professional quality image of the brass 111 Classic I will buy the poster/8x10. What I do when I draw a technological blank is find a kid and bribe them to do it. Todays kids are like wizards with cameras, computers, cell phone and, well, lots of modern stuff.

You get tired of all that brass and please let me know.

Enjoy your rare baby rare folder.

Mr. Matheny, Thank you for letting us know you have a brass 111 Classic . Thats good news . Someone will work out the details for a photo . Topol, your bottom one looks like Oregon's and the top like mine and Plumbers . DM

You guys are too kind. The camera story goes like this. I am too cheap to get high speed internet so I don't own a computer and since I don't own a computer I don't own a camera to use with it. I use the computer at the library so I can stay on line. On the otherhand I always seem to have money for another Buck Knife so I guess that means I am a dyed-in-the-wool Buck collector as Oregon says. Have a good one!

Richard, There is a saying in Spanish for guys like you, its 'el es muy codo' ... The best translation comes out 'he's very tight' . DM ;)

I fiddled with the color editing of my photo software & my aluminum 111 Classic in order to try and visualize what Richard's brass 111 Classic might look like. Buck's brass is so rich looking I haven't come close but here is what I got for your amusement:

Richard,

Are either of the first two pics anything like your brass 111 Classic? And, thank you kindly for coming forward. You are all right.

I've beat the bushes (John Foresman Pres. BCCI & Larry Oden VP BCCI) and the only brass 111 Classic(s) known to exist is (are) owned by Dick Matheny acquired from Vern Taylor (deceased).

That is it unless someone else chimes in.

Wow, never seen those before. What what I expect to pay for a decent shape used one of those? Pretty cool.

How can I keep the aluminum handle from turning my fingers black? Wax maybe...

Just a tiny dab of Simichrome and an old cotton tee shirt and she will be clean as a hounds tooth.:)

The Brass one is a lot more expensive!

OK, okay, all right, uh huh, well now, yup now shouldn't you be posting a pictorial of your rare-baby-rare, I have the only known one, brass 111 Classic, my friend?

Not pushing you understand. No, I am not trying to motivate you to share just a few images of many of our heart's desire which you happen to have and hold. Not at all. I wouldn't do that. Don't think twice or let it bother you just before you fall asleep at night while the rest of us toss, turn and vex ourselves to sleep every single damn night wondering just how wonderful it is to behold... :D

Hey guy's all we need is to have someone meat him at his work place when we know he can bring it with him, then take a picture of it and post it so we can all see it. ;) :D :D :D HL

What was the story (if any) behind the polished blades? Did all 4-dot versions have the polished blades?

The 3 dots did but I'm not positive about 'all' 4 dots . DM

The three dot examples I've got do not have the polished blades...only the four dot.

My three dots are both different though. They have the different engraving pattern as shown earlier and they each have the different banner style.
