112 Age?

Everyone is right by the timeline sheet they are using. What I am finding difficult is to associate a no dot blade with a handle that occurred after they issued the 4 dot handle, which had the dots stamped on the blade for a date mark. A liner that was drilled with both styles of rivet holes. Of course this is using the list posted in this thread. I myself, listed my small group of 112s as per the above listing. I still think it is a parts knife. A early blade with a handle from the future. This kind of thing happens in most models at one time or another. If I was still collecting them I would try to get it to show it as an oddball. As the car collectors say, a Rat Rod. 300

The mystery continues...

Another one, but this time, 3 line stamp, no dots, 3 "large" brass rivets.

Edited to add:

I have a 110 that you nearly need a microscope to see the 4 dots.

I think this is the case with this knife. If you click on this link, it enlarges the photo enough to see very faint dots. Agree? Link

There are definetly 2 dots on that tang, but I had to put a magnifying glass up to the screen to see them.

getting old is a drag.

This is good old time knife discussion. Here is photo of my only two I have left. Besides two stag scales. A Segua ( Yes, I know it is actually a Shedua wood scale, but Buck called them Segua) and a four rivet with the two dot date stamp. Either my screen is old or my eyes are, as I just do not see the dots on the first 112 in question. Very tiny, correctly age struck dots are on the second knife above. 300

Old photos. Always make sure you take a photo of the front and back of every Buck knife that passes thru your hands.

Change in rivet size

Here's where I failed the Buck Nation, I started doing photos like this with this idea of making a fancy front and back photo of each 112 , at least till they started date stamping, but never got it done. Now I have sold the knives to finance other knives.

Again always take a 'good' front and back photo of every knife you own. 300

If you're talking about the first 112 that I posted, not the one in Post #22, then I believe you are correct. According to the seller, who I emailed and asked for a close examination of the stamp, said there are no dots.
