112 vs 500 bolster and pin

So the real side question is which is better SS or NS? And which do y’all like better? To me they are real hard to tell the difference in looks and probably in performance?

To me the frame difference is small. The blade steel and shape matters more. Thats why I carry a Duke. DM

So as far as my original question, does the bolster and pin material affect the strength of the pivot (e.g. stainless vs. brass or nickel)?

stainless should be stronger but the size of the blade and way it's designed size and shape and all to be used, shouldn't matter enough which material. I doubt youd notice any difference between the 3 metals in a blade that size.

the rivets are still steel in the whole series, so rivet and knife strength is similar to the old all steel ones.
