112 with finger grooves

Every time I read, see or hear of a 112 my ears perkup to see of they are writing of a finger groove...

I had one and lost it as a teenager. I regret it to this day. I have looked at a dozen or so 112's with finger grooves hoping to find one of the vintage I lost. I thought it late 1970's but now read it was likely 1980's.
I bought one off ebay last year and was disappointing.. I was tricked. but not the typical way. The knife was listed exactly what I wanted the price was fair so I should have been more suspect. What arrived was a 100% Perfect current production knife. NOT the very fine original version I thought I was buying. I kept it as Its a very nice knife but not what I was seeking...

BEAUTIFUL KNIVES GUYS!!!

I have a pretty nice collection and need to make the time to take some good pictures to showcase them..

i asked about this while back. got good info and went ahead and ordered a custom shop one. too small to fit my fingers really, but not awkward to use as a grip over them works fine for me. which sounds odd and uncomfortable, but it's like a texture effect feel not like holding the knife wrong kind of feel. that's me though. others might feel differently i would imagine. i like the look of them and i find them comfortable enough.

cw,check the stickie at the top of the page that shows the time line of the 112.
Youll find the tang stamp of the vintage you are looking for
I am also looking for a three dot 112 with finger grooves.
Good luck in you're search

I just looked over this thread again and have had a epiphany on every day carry. .a nickel silver drop point stag handle 112 from the 90's or early 2000's is about the best looking, best performing Buck knife a man can carry. I'm going to look in my collection and see if I can find one to carry this year.

Great pics and information above. I prefer the finger groove models, but the regular version works just as well.

I had one as a teen ager and lost it. Just last week I found a replacement and I'm thrilled!!

Looks like photobucket is screwed up AGAIN. grrr
