Which one would you chose?

  • 113 custom

  • 192 Pro, Limited

  • Who cares? Because some probably don't.😆

5160
5160 full flat grind
420HC
S45VN

what would you offer?

would be nice to see a good variation of materials on the handle too... wood, bone, micarta, horn... stonework would be fantastic
that's a good list there of steels Buck has. wouldn't mind a cpm154, 3v or even cruwear....but could live with just 420hc and 5160.

I dont own a 113 or my opinion might be a little different.

But I'm a big Vanguard fan. So much so that I have only one, and it's a gem.

It's not as nimble as a 110 or 118 for dressing game, and it's a little cumbersome for cleaning finger nails, but it's a confident size in that it's good for everything, but not quite perfect for anything, if you know what I mean.

My only Vanguard is in BG42 by Joe Hauser.

But then I've been known to carry a 927 on occasion too...

I think the 192 Pro Limited is a good choice. I plan on getting one. The Vanguard is one of my favorites and I need to match others I have in the pro series with Green micarta handle, Nickle hardware, S35v blade.

I've been hoping for an upgraded 192 w/ micarta handle for awhile.
Almost every time there's a new BOTM thread "I want a micarta handled upgraded steel 192".
Well Buck has one out, shut up and get it.
🙄

I found a discount on one and just went ahead and ordered it.
I agree that a 192 isn't necessarily the best knife for a specific task.
But I think it's one of my favorites just because it looks so good and feels good in your hand.

113's and Gen5's are favorites as well.
I'll get that 113 ordered.
We're working 7 days, so......😴

That's a good one to have!

I would go with 113 because I don't have one. May as well go with S30V. Waterbuffalo looks good. In fact, now I think I need one. Damn you!!!

Well I got my 192 Pro.
Nice knife.

However,
I purchased this from Midway usa, and I know they are not a supporting retailer, but I am in NO WAY supporting or encouraging anybody to ever purchase a collectable knife from them.

The knife box was essentially treated as a shipping box and arrived completely destroyed.
The knife survived.

But fair warning.
If you're going to purchase a user from them, well that's up to you.
.......something of value.....?
NEVER!

wow. I buy certain brands from them sometimes when on sale and always has come factory box in a cardboard box with packing material.......kinda surprised they did that.

Sometimes people in shipping departments make bad decisions, whether due to being new, incompetent, or uncaring. Last year I ordered a 12-pack of tissues from Sam's Club. Instead of putting it in a box, whomever was responsible slapped all of the shipping labels on the flimsy plastic wrap that holds the 12 boxes of tissues together. When it arrived, half the boxes were mangled and someone had tried to repair tears in the plastic wrap with tape. It was pathetic. Sam's replaced it right away, though.

Actually I purchased a Saunter from my above mentioned store awhile back.

They shipped that box in a bag as well. No damage that time.
I forgot all about that.
So I'm quite confident this is their shipping practice for Buck knives.

I'm over it.
I'll just chalk it up as a learning experience.
However I won't forget either.

Well I finally heard back from them....

"Thank you for your email and feedback. We will share this information with our shipping department. We apologize for this situation"

🤔

I actually got a good laugh complete with head shake.
✌️
