Hello Everyone,
I have a very unique piece available. This is a 1157 layer Damascus Tanto made from 1084, W2, and 15n20. It started as a 24 layer stack of 1084 and 15n20, forge welded and drawn out into 8 pieces for the first restack. That brought the billet to 192 layers which was forge welded again then drawn out into 6 pieces, the final restack includes wide bands of W2 between each Damascus tile giving a final layer count of 1157.
The bar was then forged to shape, ground clean, and stamped on tang with my makers mark. The blade went through several steps of grinding and polishing after heat treating. It went through several etching cycles to give depth to the pattern and finished with a coffee bath to bring out the contrast.
The goal of this piece was for it to be a modern interpretation of a traditional tanto so I wanted to be able to disassemble the entire piece for cleaning and to reveal the makers mark. I started by making a frame handle around the tang using vintage emerald green micarta with natural liners and black g10 for my center piece. The tang has a snug fit and is held in with a stainless steel stand-off and small allen screws that are countersunk in the handle for comfort. To take the piece apart a small mallet is used to nock the pin out after taking off the screws, then while holding firmly on the handle with your opposite hand lightly hit the top of the hand holding the handle and the blade should pop loose to be removed. I hope you have enjoyed the explanation of this piece, it is available on my website for $1500. Payments accepted include PayPal G&S, credit cards, Apple or google pay. I also have 6 week interest free financing available. This piece will ship fully insured with a hand written thank you card that includes the date this piece was created and my signature. Here is a link directly to this piece on my website, thank you for looking.

Beautiful. You may want to include the specs ( blade length, handle/oal...I see it on the website, but did not catch it in this listing).
