When I misplaced my shoebox of working Buck Knives after our move in early October, I found one box of NIB Buck Knives. Closest thing in that box to my favorite deer knife (the Buck 118) was my new Buck 117; I carried it hunting with me over the next couple of weeks and did clean one deer with it. Good knife, if I didn't already prefer the Buck 118, I would adopt the Buck 117 for my whitetail knife. OH
I bought it a year ago from Copper & Clad, a dealer in limited run Buck Knives. OH
Ps Just logged onto their website, they have two versions of the Buck 117 in stock - the black phenolic like mine and a cocobolo handle version.
Those are nice but i like the one that looks exactly like a stock 119 blood groove included.
I get email from copper & clad all the time. Who are they anyway?
Yes prices are why i limit my collecting to mostly bone stock Buck knives. The fact that this year i’m gonna slow it down a bit and thet the melted plastic from 2018 cool down a bit. Still plan on taking advantage of my 5 knife BCCI discount but we shall see.
what you did to the sheath makes it look great I think---took all the scratches from storage off the leather---I like it....yes fit is great for the brahma 117 blade----I even fit one to the spike 117 that comes from the buck factory......any 117 fits great in that sheath....
