119 Question

I have a model 119 that appears to have no date code. How would I figure out the age of this knife?

If it has no date code, then it was made prior to 1986. Further than that will require pictures to help out. Here's a thread about that very question. Just try to ignore some of the rudeness that was evident in the thread. Here's a date chart also, just click on the thumbnail to enlarge it.

Wayne, Welcome . You've come to the right place for info.. Tell us the exact blade stamping and the spacers in the finger guard and between the black handle and pommel . DM

Thanks for the help. I will get pictures in a few days. I'm helping an elderly friend dispose of his collection.I'm trying to get a ballpark value on several Buck knives. I need a little education so I can ask semi intelligent questions. I didn't know about date codes until I found this forum today. I have a lot of reading to do.
