Hey Buckaroos...
Is there a sheath for a 119 that has the handle of the knife riding at or below the belt?
The stock sheath I have rides too high for my liking.
Thanks!

None that I know of other than custom,or since they don't fit you I will gladly
wear them so e-mail me for the shipping address.
I have had one custom sheath made by a Buckaroo in Colorado,he does great work.

Thanks Earl...
Well, I got a factory custom sheath yesterday.

You can see that the 119 rides lower. That is what I wanted.
It's a bit more conspicuous...not just cause of the belt type leather being thicker, but the color.
Question to my Buck Brothers...will this "natural" color darken over time (hope it gets real dark), or do these things take to being dyed black and holding the dye?
So, leave it, or dye it?

I say leave it as it is...it will discolor by itself...blood, sweat, oil, [censored], burns, cuts, scratches...pretty soon no one will know you are a n00bie...

...I agree with Trax and Buck_110...Leave 'er be goose...It'll weather down to a beauty...

Do you *want* it to look old & weathered??? Try dark mahogany wood stain... :D

Nah! Forget I said that!!! (It does work though)... :D

I fill a pint jar about 3/4 full, with neatsfoot oil, add about a tablespoon of parrifin wax,and put it in a pan of water on low heat,(sort of like a double boiler), and dip sheath in it, then flip it over, and do same thing to other end.
it turns veg, tanned leather an even dark brown, and doesn't color the stitching, try a small piece of leather, i think you'll like it:).

Nice lookin sheath there Goose,
I should look into one of those sheaths I dont care for how high my 119's carry either. That looks alot more comfortable!

Yeah, maybe I'll just let it do its' own thing over time Trax, Darryl, and B110. IIRC one of my Ka-Bar sheaths was that light color at first. The "spray painting in the dark" was a good way to slap me into my senses

I may try that neatsfoot oil trick on one of my other sheaths Patrick. Got a Sharpfinger sheath and a 110 Custom sheath laying around that are veg tanned...if I try it and like the results, I may give it a shot on the 119 sheath.

Jim, I got this one on that auction site that starts with a vowel. Don't know what the retail for the sheaths are but I paid like $50 for the sheath and a mint 119C (1995).

Thanks to all...

Evil Eye Earl,
Yeah, I know that "feller in Colorado", and he's glad you like your sheath!

Yep! Not only will it darken it will be well preserved. That Neatsfoot oil is great stuff. What does the Parrifan wax do?

it seals the thread area, from moister, and also adds a lil shine to it, i usually dip them several times, then wipe them down with white paper towels.

Didn't want to start another thread or hi-jack someone else's thread...

Can someone post a pic of a 119 with Stag?

More importantly, know where I can get one?

I used to rub all my baseball gloves with neatsfoot oil. Darkened them up some. Don't think there has never NOT been some sitting around here for rubbin on leather.
