Seems like many folks here, me included, focus more on 110's, but I was just curious how many folk here like the 119 as a collector?

I have a lot of sentimental attachment to the 119, from my days as a teenager roaming the mountains of MT. My general rule is that I won't have a knife that I won't carry, unless of course it's an heirloom.

Recently I got a 100th Anniv. 119, and now I'd rather just sit and look at it. Now I"m looking for another for my son, and researching older threads here on the Buck forum, and looking at older ones on ebay, and . . .

. . . I'm hooked.

thx - cpr

I have both the regular and the wood handled one. A very classic knife to own and collect.

Lots of guys like the 119. I love them and used to collect them, but I quit because the competition is so fierce ;)
I couldnt come up with enough dough to keep up with the other buyers ;)

I do have an ATS-34 119 on the way though, it should make for the perfect user!

It is one of the best selling Bucks, well next to the 110- isn't it?

Bear Claw,

I have a number of 119's. Some older ones with the flap over sheath, and an 819, which is a S30V variation. I also have one of the new bone handled models from Bass Pro on order.

I got the Bass Pro catalog in the mail today, and that white bone 119 is a real tempting blade!

Bear Claw,

I have one of the white bone 110's. They have brass bolsters. It is a nice knife though. It really did look like NS on the website though.

Hi BCCL,

Like most of us here...I also like the 119. I have a brass woody from brother Jim and a few others I count 7 in the display case. There are some nice 119 pics in the Buck photo sticky link.

I would love to get a few of the blade cut out 119's...I have the 100 year blade cut out...however, if I put it into one of the Buck knife stands...it reads 001 not 100. One of my daughters was in the room when I discovered I could not put it in the display stand...to this day she calls it my 001 knife :(....LOL. But, my favorite 119's are the ones with stag shoes.

The 119 is so appropriately named...Special! Great knife and really not much requiring a knife can't be done and done well with a 119! When you consider all the upgraded treatments the 119 has received through the years, it is hard for a guy like me to NOT have accumulated 14 or 15 or 20 really nice examples. In a word, yep, I collect 'em!

Not as a collector, since I dont collect a special pattern or knife, but as part of my collection of working knives.

I have but one Buck 119...It's the plain-Jane offering; no sheath even...No real sentimental value...I bought it more to help out a brother...

I don't really "collect" them, but I probably have about a half dozen of 'em
Just ordered the leather stacked and am eye'in that boney.

I collect mainly the 110's, 112's and 532's but I snuck a group of 119's into the collection just 'cause I like their size and profile.

I bought a 119BR last summer - too pretty to use. September came - I was in Academy - they had the 119s with a leather sheath for a buck or two over the nylon variant WM had, so one came home with me. Bad idea. I tried it 'in the yard' - neat - then, my butcher knife was too dull - so I cleaned the 119 and tried it in the kitchen - it's new home. I'd love an ATS-34 or S30V variant.

My Buck plastic stand has the 102, 103, 105, 119, & 120, all BRs, on it - really nice. That 119BR started the madness.
