119's

Stainz...
No kidding on a 119 variant. I bet the Custom Shop would sell more of those than the current non-110 offerring (Alpha).

I really like the 119, my favorite Buck fixed blade. This is a Wilde Bill Cody 119....mirror polished 420HC with elephant ivory handle

Bear Claw,

I have a number of 119's. Some older ones with the flap over sheath, and an 819, which is a S30V variation.

Tom

Tom, have you used your 819 for any cutting? I've seen one (not for sale) and liked it. Any of those 800 series are getting hard to find. I have the 805. Someone took alot of time to mirror polish S30V, the lanyard hole and walnut checkering make those a great package. DM

No, haven't used it. It's just to pretty to put to work.:)

It's a true classic, its was actually my dad's 119 that started my knife craze. I would love a full tang 119 with a tool steel blade like A2 or 1095.

My 119 was the first real knife I ever owned. I am going to have the pommel drill pressed and have some brass tubing put in for a lanyard (which I think this knife REALLY needs as the handle can get very slick)...have it polished up and give it to my boy when he is old/responsible enough to have a knife. It's not a bad knife at all...the blade geometry isn't the best, but construction is great. I think it will last my son until he decides to pass it down.

Anyone besides me that would welcome a "special" 119 for the (next) BCCI annual knife ???

J, I agree w/ both your points. A lanyard hole is a must and better blade shape would improve. The 124 was the only 100 series to have both. DM

TLC, you are a southpaw like me so you would like my 119. It is a lefty. The knife itself is your everyday Walmarket Special but when I got it, some years ago, I didn’t care for the sheath so I wrote a nice paper letter to Chuck to see if he would sell me a lefty sheath. Well, he sent me one for free and I’ve been hooked on Bucks ever since. I have more than a hundred of the little dears now. I’d say the cost of that lefty sheath was money well spent. Joe has said that they don’t do this any more and who am I to argue but I will say that as a marketing tool ‘boy did that ever work well!’

Sweet, I wish more companies would do things like that!
