12” AK versus 10” BDC

Thanks Dan and Yvsa for the discussion on the "bent tang" offset. Regardless of whether the angled handle was accidental or intentional I really like how this one feels and can't imagine trying to straighten it out. My wife thought I was going nutty again, but I took a plastic coat hanger (you know, those flat cheap ones that come with tee shirts from Wal Mart) and bent it in the middle to approximate the 10 degree handle on the AK, and then I started whacking things with it. The shape of the coat hanger is sort of like the khukuri, and even she admitted that it felt more natural to "chop" with the coat hanger with the "handle" bent inward to the left, and really weird turned around with the "blade" going off to the right. With the "blade" off to the right the coat hanger tries to twist when "chopping".

(I'm smiling now as I imagine several of you wandering around the house whacking things with a cheapie plastic coat hanger :) )

Thanks also for encouraging me to find a Pen Knife. I have got to try one of those now for sure! Lately they have been rather rare, but maybe another batch will come in soon.
