Isn't it 02 20, 2020? Or 09/11/2911? Damn Mayans. I could never read their writing. Well, this much is for sure, human sacrifice is in order to survice. Mayan old school. With a SAK, of cours. And damn it, I'm using the corkscrew finally!!!!!
 
I just watched a show on nat geo, they found that the Mayan calender actually extends far beyond 12/21/12 at a recent excavation that appears to be where the actual calander scribes worked from. Just another Winter solstice, but likely with a few chicken little's out and about.

Rookie mistake actually, the archaeologists who discovered the Mayan stone tablet forgot to check the back side and failed to noticed that it continued on the other side! Can't really blame them, stone tablets are damn heavy!
 
Right before the Y2K I talked to a friend who works at the water district in culver city. He mentioned that for each system there always was and will me a manual back up. Which means they can send a person to open or close any control gate. They also checked and made sure everything is working a month before the Y2K.
A customer is working at the JPL. When I asked him about the 12-21-12. He mentioned that they had a long talk between the many people who work there... Yes he is a rocket scientist and works with many others... None of them could come up with anything that might happen on that date that might not happen any other day.
I swear most of those people in a way wish that something bad would happen. Many of them should collect less food and guns and walk more so they could lose those 60lb. So man of them are out of shape and some have hard time walking. For me I rather nothing bad happens, I like my grilled cheese sandwhich. Have a good life and fun with family and friends.
 
One of the things I love about this... if the Myans truly were the gifted superior intellect that many believe.... so superior that thier discoveries far surpass our own science today- why are they extinct?

There is a grin in there.... not taking away from how advanced their thinking was for their time. There have been many periods in civilizations that were far ahead of their time. And there is much left for us to unravel here on "Ole Blue"- Nostradamus was correct on some things. Many predictions... not so much.

Whoa! I just did some calculations based on predictions given in an ancient text that I read when I was a child. We were due to be hit by a small comet on 12/21/12. The comet would have hit about 200 miles below the horizon in the Pacific Ocean. But based on other calculations I have determined that the earth will be shy of that point by about 750 miles. So, the comet will pass about 500 miles above the surface of the earth. You will need to wear some serious sunscreen. And good shades are in order. We will not be let off unscathed as the comet will contribute to global warming.
 
It's the end of the world. I read it on the internet and they can't put anything on the internet that isn't true.
 
Am I worried about 12/21/12? Not so much. It can't be as bad as what already happened on 11/06/12. :(

I'm not ready for it. I planned end of the year desert camping trip. I would be very very pissed if it was the end of the world a few days before I left.. I won't be happy and those Mayan would pay for canceling my trip. In the worst possible way.

A load of bunk, but I thought of something while listening to some coworkers going on about it.
It might be an opportunity for some nut job(s) to act on some sort of terrorist attack. Random, maybe but more likely than this Mayan crap.
I might just take the opportunity to sort through the BOB and inventory some gear just in case, though. :)

Hmm...

I'm thinking bacon. I should probably check to see if I have enough bacon. One should never go for too long without the healing powers of bacon.
