Dude, you might want to lay off the caffeine.

And get that caps lock key checked.... And those links are both for the same tool....

L6,
Thanks for the information. I want to start making knives, SOON!! Are these sanders a good deal? Would one of these sanders be a good all around tool? I have a bench grinder, and a bunch of files. I have been pricing the knife making equipment. This is something that I could afford.

In some of my books the makers flat grind their blades on a disc sander. I'm fixin to make a horizontal belt grinder that would be helpful, and its going to be a low cost one too. Sounds dumb, but for the idler pulleys, I'm using bicycle hubs with the brake parts removed. They're just 1 7/8" wide on the inside, so I'm going to cut them in half and slide them onto a piece of 2" long thin walled tubing over them to make them 2" inside. Once I'm sure it will work, I'll post a set of plans for it here in the forums. I have been using a homemade buffer for the last three years, so you can make those also. I bought one of harbor freight's $89 buffers, and it looks like a winner too. Time will tell if its built as good as it appears to be.Two books I recommend you get asap are "STEP BY STEP KNIFEMAKING" by DAVID BOYE, which covers fixed blades, and "HOW TO MAKE FOLDING KNIVES" by RON LAKE, WAYNE CLAY, and FRANK CENTOFANTE. I hope you get the bug Shawn! Knifemaking can be a fascinating and very rewarding hobby that can easily turn into a career.Just be sure to have and always use the proper safety gear and practices.

EWOK, Sorry for the caps, I'll stop using them here in the forum. Take care! Michael
