I finished my 12th knife yesterday. I made the sheath as well. It is a skinner. It's very light and feels great in the hand. This one is being donated to my local Friends of the NRA fundraiser banquet this Friday and will go up for auction. It will be interesting to see what it brings. Comments and critique welcomed.

Specs

Blade steel: Aldo's 1084FG, differentially hardened, full flat ground
Blade dimensions: 3.75" long by 1/8" thick, hand sanded to 800x

Handle: Stabilized (K&G) Amboyna Burl, sanded to 2500x
OAL: 9.25"

Really nice clean work, especially for #12.

A lot of nice subtle curves and lines going on. Beautiful handle. Classic design.

The leather is nice and neat too. Good job.

Excellent work! Hard to believe that is only your 12th. Unless you have a quite a few more you have not finished.

great looking knife, and a good cause ;0)

When they pry it from my cold dead hand...

Very nicely done! That's going to make someone very happy and hopefully they'll open up the wallet!

Holy crap that's nice. And #12?!? You are making some of us look bad... I hope my twelve is that nice!!

Letter punches suck don't they? :) I am about to throw mine away after the last thing I botched with one.

yep, great job. if #12 looked like that I wouldn't be where I'm at today. hell... if # 30 looked that good I'd have been happy.

Thank you everybody for your comments. Yes, the serial number, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!. You didn't want to be around me that day. There was some awfully colorful language being thrown about. I think I even invented a couple of new words! I might have to start taking a closer look at stencils in the near future.

Marc, thank you very much sir. That is very nice of you to say.

This thing is gorgeous! Have you considered using some sort of guide to get the spacing even? Like a filing guide so at the very least the letters are all along a line?

Neil,

I have considered it. I am currently trying to think of how to construct a jig for that purpose. I will figure something out because I cannot let this problem continue. If anybody out there has ideas or designs for such a jig I'm all eyes and ears!

That is one sweet looking knife. Really like the design of the blade and I am sucker for those beautiful wood handles.
