Anyone use the 12" for their projects or have some pictures of finished blades to look at, I'm thinking of seeing if Rob can include that size in place of the 10" one,
I'll being using the 56 frame 2 Hp, no VS

I love my 14" wheel. I believe without variable speed or pulley reduction any big wheel would turn much too fast to do finish work.

12" wheel is nice, it puts a very shallow hollow in a knife. On thin, shorter grinds, it's hard to tell it's a hollow. The 14" wheel is even better, it grinds higher and flatter and is my favorite wheel to grind on. I've run a 12" wheel on a single speed bader with the smallest drive wheel (1.5") which ends up somewhere around 2000sfpm and it's no problem. I couldn't tell you about the faster 3 and 6" drive wheels.

OK thanks for the info so far, since I was going to purchase from Rob, I only see the serrated 14" wheel, which is fine I suppose, I haven't used one, So assuming I get the VS and all that, is the serrated to much for finish, or should I grab a smooth wheel elsewhere?

I also use the 14" wheel and the 10" and 8" with variable speed. Great for any projects that comes up in the shop.

Rob should be able to get you a smooth wheel, I've never worked on a serrated wheel from beaumont.
