I haven't posted anything in a while so here's something special!
This is the first knife of it's kind that I've made and offered for sale!
I knapped the blade from an awesome piece of Mahogany obsidian that I've been saving back for a long time. It is unique in that it resembles a tiger's stripes with the reddish-brown and black diagonal stripes.
The handle is a piece of vine-twisted oak that I found and dried for over a year and I finally cut it up and decided it would make a nice rustic handle. I gave it a slight mahogany stain to match the blade and then buffed it out to a nice satiny/semi-gloss finish.
The wrap is 1 mm black leather cord.

Total length is 12" and is perfectly balanced at the center.
I'm going to ask $175.00 for this and see what happens.
Now $110.00

Here's one that got away. Another one of a kind knife that I made a few weeks ago. Sold it to the first person I showed it to! Has a Mookaite Jasper blade and antler handleuploadfromtaptalk1415828030455.jpguploadfromtaptalk1415828057934.jpg

Damn. This is the most refreshing thing I've seen on Bladeforums in awhile. That is beautiful!

Hi Im new to the site and blade world so sorry for the new-be question. First, awesome looking work can this blade be used or is it very brittle and more of a show piece? Thanks for the intel. Have a good one.

Josh

You can cut with it but not pry. Just straight cutting. Obsidian is very sharp. It has been used until recently by ophthalmologists in eye surgery.
These are extrordinary blades. I have sevral but you could have sold me that dagger.

Thanks for the comments! Yeah, the dagger was one of my favorites. I kind of hated to sell it. I am going to try to make another of that same style though... I just got some black flint, colha flint, Texas flint, some more jasper, and a piece of agate. Hopefully something will turn out good
