120 General

Another picture, the one on the left had the tip broken off.

Wow, someone did a great job on it.

Some of them have blades a bit longer than others. My Idaho stamped blade is about a 1/4" longer than the one made in 2008 (it's pretty obvious in the picture) so it could have the tip broken and reshaped and it would really be hard to tell if it was done right.

Cool about the date. They are quite a handful of knife. Now you need to staart tracking down a 124!

Actually, I talked to a gentleman that bought a collection a few years agoand is talking about taking it to a knife show coming up and selling it, He says he's got several 124's that are still in the box. He mentioned 119's also

Have to admit it, Dave, I did it myself, with a file for the shaping. Thought it came out good.

ed, good effort . I've done the older 120's with a coarse crystolon or diamond stone . Just work slow and watch, you can get them back to looking good and nice working order . They're a good work horse knife . DM

Here's two more 120s... I need to get a few more of them... ITE

Mitch........Blood groove looks pretty hosed up......maybe even worse that one of PlumberD's?

I'd demand one with a good blood groove.

Hard to tell from these latest pics, but it looks like there's a line down the middle, a dot at either end on both and one end has a slightly enlarged circle.

If so, these are flaws due to poor workmanship and I've had a couple like that and sent them back and got good ones. I'm not going to pay that much and get stuck with a poor example of a fine knife.

Some people say it's different if it's just a user, but I like ALL my knives to show excellent workmanship.

I pay for the best and I won't settle for second-best.

This kind of thing is why I've been concentrating on the older knives lately.
