I have a nice Uncle Henry folder I purchased out of a display at Kmart in September of 1989. It has a 3 1/8" single blade of Schrade Steel and the normal Uncle Henry synthetic bone scales. It has a bolster on each end and a lanyard hole. I have not ever seen another of these knives that I can remember and had put it up shortly after I got it. I just came across it this last weekend (still in the box with receipt)and decided to carry it. It is nicely rounded when closed and pretty slim. I was wondering how long these were made and when they were discontinued. It is a very handy size with a good thin blade with a nice flat grind.

The 124 pattern was made in the late 80tys I do not know the exact year it was stopped. It was made both for the Old Timer line and the Uncle Henry line of Schrade knives. Known as the 124OT or the 124UH. The Old timer models should have been in carbon steel and the Uncle Henrys in stainless ( Schrade + ) steel. Of course the Old timer was in sawcut delrin and the Uncle henry in staglon ( artifical stag). This pattern was used in several limited editions some scrimshaw. Perhapes the most well known being the statue of liberty commerative. Which was one of the few that upon request could be bought handled in real jigged bone. Alot of these were done in the early 90 tys. The 124 is really a smaller version of the 125 these are single bladed clasp style knives. It should be noted that a very few were made with a brass liner lock just as the 125 pattern had some made both ways ( with lock and with out). There were not a lot of them in the 124 pattern. While Schrade had used the larger 125 type pattern under the earlier Schrade Cut and Schrade Walden tang markings (115, 1104 3/8, s1154ac, ). I am not aware of them using the smaller 124 pattern under those tangs which leads me to believe that the knife was marketed and then used on limited editions and then put back in moth balls. Unfortunately this is not the only nice pattern this has happened to. I hope this helps LT

LT, Thank You for all of the good information. I have been carrying this one all week and really like this pattern.
