Hello guys, I do have a silly question about the 1280, is this blade produced with the logo stamped only, or it was laser etched as well?
Haven't seen any laser etched so far, but still have to make this question.

To my knowledge, stamped only, but mine is a couple of years old. New production, if there has been any, MIGHT be etched. Depends on how many they made and if they stll have old ones in stock. The BK5 went from cradle to grave as a stamped only.

Believe the same, hopping stays around for a while, I really like the looks of this blade.

Friggin schmexy blade! Damn near pulled the trigger right before I snagged my first Becker. It's stayed at the top of my list for a looong time. I hope it's around for a while so I can finally snag it! Enjoy it man. I saw naked and afraid marathon this weekend and a lady brought one. Looked to serve her well enough though she got sick early...

Nah...the 1246 is prob the one ur thinking ...

Next ones ya gotta find are these...

1273, 1242, and 1253...

1273, I believe it's another Ka-Bar/Dozier collaboration. Really sweet Blade. This one had the swedge sharpened...assume by the previous owner. I paid too much but it was the last one I was looking for and really hard to come by.

Thanks, definitively I'll add that one to my wish list, true eye candy...

Fixed it...meant Dozier...I'm still at work and its almost midnight lol.
Yeah, just looked it up on the bay and I don't feel so bad now lol. That last one was not me!

Hah...mine was over at 4...about to go home now at 1am then get up at 6 and do it all again...
I'm too old for this shizz...

I am developing a real itch for the Combat Kukri.

Anybody using this one much in the woods?
I know it says combat. But my Dog's Head is a wonderful woods knife. I see the same potential for the Combat Kukri. I'm tellin' ya, it's there

Slice,
You're killing me with that 1246!

I was hoping that would be KA-BAR's big Blade news. The reintroduction of the 1246.

I have one and I love it. Haven't done a ton of use with it outside of basic camping tasks but its a beast so far. Nice and light so multiple swings don't get tiresome but still chopped very well. Did some easy batons through some firewood, took down some branches easily around the site that were annoyingly low hanging with ease. I'm sure a more traditional kukri from somewhere like Himalayan imports would out perform it in heavy duty tasks due to the size/weight different but for the price it hasn't let me down yet!

Edge held really well, haven't had to sharpen it yet thankfully as I'm a little worried about that part (zero experience with that shape of blade).

Even if you end up not liking it for hard outdoor use its a great blade and mine currently resides next to my bed ready to go any time it's needed.

Beast,

Thanks for the feedback!

Everything you say makes sense.

I like the CK shape, straight handle with bent blade. I wonder if I would like it better than my BK-4 with bent handle, straight blade, or spine

The Combat Kuk looks like it would handle most camp chores really well. Except for maybe filleting deer flys.

I currently have a KA-BAR Large Tanto next to my sleeping quarters. The Kuk would work well there too.

Well, Tomar's was on their game. I ordered this knife at 16:00 on Thursday afternoon, and it was here at 10:00 this morning.

It may seem simple since Tomar's is only a 30 minute drive from here. But it's not that simple. Since the USPS has to ship the knife from Moores to Plattsburgh. Then on to Albany, then back to Plattsburgh, then to a few other places, then to my local post office and out for delivery.

Instead of a direct 30 minute route. This knife had approximately nine hours of road time and handling by at least 6 different postal facilities.

And they wonder why they're always broke.

But about the knife,
So far, so good. Grinds look pretty good. Hair jumped off my arm when I ran it up. Not sure if it was sharpness or Kukri fear.

More later
