I want to thank Darrin for being both an excellent knife maker and for also extending himself to me in another manner. When discussing sheaths and such, I mentioned that my hands and fingers exhibit quite a bit of advanced arthiritus and it's difficult to withdraw my knives from their sheaths unless that sheath is cut a big shorter at the top so that I can get a bit more grip in the knife handle. He told me that he would indeed shorten the top of the sheath to help accomodate my aforementioned issues.

He then called me a bit later and asked if I would allow him to greatly enhance this sheath and further help me to manage my issues by making a sheath for this knife that had a snap cover to it so that I could very easily withdraw this knife from it's sheath. What a great and thoughtful idea...... I told him that I was all for that and thanked him for his thoughtfulness.

Well, the knife and sheath arrived and both are just beautiful. Suffice it to say, it is the typical Darrin Sanders work that we've all grown accustomed to. The snap covered sheath is so very well made and is so easy for me to manipulate. What a great idea and what a thoughtfull gesture on Darrin's part.

Darrin extended himself without regard for his own benefit.......not real common these days. He helped to restore a bit of faith in what I feel has been slowly disappearing lately...............one person extending themselves to another, without regard for anything, but to be of help.

Darrin.....I thank you for the beautiful knife and sheath, but perhaps even more important to me, thank you for your thoughtfulness and kindness.

Sincerely,

Ken

Thanks for the kind words Ken. I am glad you are happy with the knife and sheath. I think little extras like the one you describe is what makes a knife a "custom". And I always do what I can to make a customer happy. If I can ever help with anything in the future please don't hesitate to ask. Working with you has been a pleasure and I would gladly do so again.
